I am a manual
therapist who enjoys helping people learn how to feel
better. I emphasize learning because I believe that once
someone learns how to feel better, they can take the lesson
with them wherever they go. I like empowering folks to get
the most out of life including the life they have within
their own bodies.
I am originally from West Texas. I grew up in middle
Tennessee and graduated from Tennessee Tech University with
a degree in Psychology. I considered going to graduate
school, but chose to take a break from the protected
environment of academia to see where life’s adventures would
take me while following my bliss. Eighteen years later, God
has blessed me with a wonderful wife, Patti, a comfortable
home, and a fulfilling career that enables me to use the
talents that I’ve been given to help people. I actually look
forward to going to work on Mondays!!
I love to travel and have been all over America and Canada
studying with some of the top teachers/practitioners of
manual therapy. I usually stay a few more days after the
seminar and my wife joins me for a tour of what that
particular area of the country has to offer. In my spare
time, I work out in a number of ways by working out at the
gym and playing disc golf. I needed a hobby that was not
related to my work. Now whenever my wife and I travel, we
take along a few of our favorite discs and play some of the
local disc golf courses.
I have seen many remarkable things since I have been in
business. I had the opportunity to work with a two-year-old
that had been diagnosed with failure to thrive. She had been
very sick and had no appetite. After the first session, she
ate a whole hamburger on the way home which was the most she
had eaten in some time. Today, she plays soccer, goes to
school and challenges her parents like any normal seven year
old.
The body was designed with a tremendous will to heal. This
way of working encourages the body to find its own path to
recovery by interacting very gently with all the soft tissue
systems of the body. Normally, the folks who benefit from my
work notice a change for the better within the first four
sessions. Otherwise, I encourage them to explore additional
forms of therapy.
The services I offer include Biovalent Systems Manual
Therapy, Craniosacral Therapy, Myofascial Release,
Neuromuscular Therapy, Somatoemotional Release, and Tai Ji
(Tai Chi) instruction. For further information
and to make appointments to try my work, please call
423-643-1965.
