Wortman is a registered dietitian and a National Strength
and Conditioning Association certified personal trainer. He
has a MS in Nutrition with a concentration in exercise
science.
My passion for
diet and exercise comes from the pronounced improvements I
have brought about in my own health, as well as the health
of some of my family and close friends. As I discovered the
power of a healthy lifestyle, I found that I truly enjoyed
all that it encompassed, and decided to change careers and
pursue the true passion I had developed. I obtained my BS
(Suma Cum Laude) and MS degrees at the University of
Tennessee. My work experience includes clinical (hospital),
renal, cancer and wellness/wt loss positions as well as
personal training on a part-time basis. Areas of special
interest for me are wellness, weight loss, dietary
supplements, and food
allergies/digestive health (I suffer from sensitivity to
gluten).
My focus is based on my belief
that lifestyle changes are the only way to elicit permanent
changes and improve a person’s health and well-being. Quick
fixes and “diets” produce short term results that are
usually not sustainable over the long term. My goal is to
assist people in creating the lifestyle that will allow them
to feel their best and BE their best. |
